What Can and Does CEC do for Me?

If you know the answer to this question, we have been looking for you for a very long time.  You must have been lost in the wilderness.  I am not trying to be cute.  Many of you do live in the wilderness.  This is Alaska, where true rural and remote makes Texas, Montana and Wyoming dizzy.  The fact is, there have been many times when I have wondered just precisely about that question.  What can and does CEC do for me?

CEC provides the foundation for the things that I have to do and for the things that I want to have done.  Maybe as a member of CEC, I am a part of the solution, and so are you as a member of CEC.  Together we should be able to address real issues and solve real problems. Maybe it really is the membership, the strength of our power in multiples that is the real magic about this organization.  CEC has many resources that we can utilize. Without our voice and support clearly the national organization would not have a voice. What we have always had is each other.  Lets get back together.  Lets make CEC work again for you and me.

As an organization it has brought us together to work on these many tasks that we do on behalf of people with disabilities…with children, young people, and young adults.  We are not powerless we are many.  We might not have the answer alone, but when we work closely together we will likely be able to solve any issue that we face.  I think that if we think about our memberships, isn’t that why we joined.

I think that CEC can and will do anything for me, for the children and families that I serve and for the profession that I very much want to be a contributing part.  Join me.  Join CEC Alaska.

Alaska CEC is what we can do for each other.
