About the CEC Canadian Committee
The CEC Canadian Committee began its work in January of 2017. A reorganization of the former CEC Canadian/US Committee, the Canadian Committee is comprised of provincial unit presidents (or his/her designee). The committee's purposes are to:
- advise the Board of Directors on ways to meet the needs of Canadian members relative to membership, professional development, publications, products and services;
- provide a forum for Canadian units to discuss and address shared concerns specific to provincial/ territorial and federal education systems, legislation, teacher preparation, etc.
The committee works with CEC staff and Canadian CEC members to select content for the Annual Convention & Expo, develop the quarterly Canadian Connection newsletter, and connect members across the provinces and the organization.
